EVERYONE IS WELCOME

Giving It All to God
James 4:10

I am a firm believer in SELF CARE.  Like most of us we get way too busy in our daily lives doing this and that, maybe for work, maybe for friends, maybe for kids, or maybe just piddling around.  Then at the end of the day we realize we have done nothing for our self.  This can be disheartening as well as exhausting.  Maybe the day was productive and a big task was accomplished or maybe the day was just wasted.  Either way at the end of the day,  we are tired and need to rest, hoping that tomorrow will be different.
Well I have been in this situation and often end up frustrated. However for the past 10 years I have become very FAITHFUL to my monthly 90-minute massage with Katie.  I plan ahead, I clear my schedule, I rest, and I take the entire day for me.  During my massage I do not talk, I simply lay in the stillness of the moment.   To help keep my mind from wondering, I focus on the pressure and motion of Katie’s thumbs.  The simple movement of her hands can relieve the tension of a tight muscle, bring comfort to an overused aching joint, soothe the burning from the tightness of the skin, and put your mind into total relaxation so that you gently drift off to sleep.  It is this feeling, when you know your body has totally surrendered.  At the end of the 90 minutes you are fresh, ready, energized, and relaxed.
This reminds me of the bible verse James 4:10, NIV: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  When we make the time we spend with the Lord a priority, He can help us to focus and allow us to surrender ourselves fully unto Him so that we are ready for each day.  He can help put our thoughts into perspective and guide our actions in our daily walk.  Reflecting back ask yourself, “Where are your priorities?”  “How much time are you spending in your daily walk with the Lord?”  If you want to be renewed, stop being over committed and commit to spending time with the Lord.
